Blister Packs

Blister packaging is widely utilized for pills and pharmaceuticals. A clear, preformed blister is constructed from a clear thermoplastic material, such as PVC or PET, that is sealed to a backing material, such as paper or aluminum. This structure allows for the display of packaging contents while protecting them from the external environment. Bostik's adhesives for manufacturing blister packaging include water-based and solvent-based adhesives that create laminates between clear plastic materials, as well as adhesives that form bonds between the clear plastic materials and the backing.

Adhesives in this portfolio that are designed to laminate plastic materials form strong bonds with good thermal stability and high clarity that do not alter the transparency of the laminate. Adhesives that are designed to provide sealing of the clear blister to the backing adhere well to paper and aluminum, have a low activation temperature, and allow for peeling when heat sealed.
